Research context
Longevity research focuses on the cellular pathways of ageing. Epithalon is investigated for telomerase activation, the mitochondrial-derived peptide MOTS-c for metabolic and mitochondrial signalling, and NAD+ precursors for sirtuin-dependent DNA-repair pathways. A 2018 review linked declining NAD+ levels to several hallmarks of ageing (Rajman et al., Cell Metabolism). This is laboratory research into the biology of ageing, not a human intervention.
